About me.
Hi!!
My name is Susy Horta. I am 30 years old, I am a colombian paediatric ICU nurse and in exactly 10 days I will be flying to
Cameroon to serve on the Africa Mercy ship with Mercy Ships International.
Maybe we have already met, or maybe this is the first time you read about me, either way, through this blog you will probably get to know me better, and also maybe will have a little bit of fun with my stories. I also like to share my spiritual life and lessons I learn here, hoping to encourage you. I do use other social media like Facebook and Instagram, also I'm trying Youtube (can't consider myself as a "Youtuber" yet).
I was born in a christian missionary family, my parents have served God for more than 30 years, so it is pretty possible I have "missionary DNA" running through my veins. I am currently working as a Nursing teacher here in Bogotá, but next week the life that I know will end, and an amazing adventure as a volunteer/missionary nurse will start.
Actually, this adventure started 10 months ago. On January I started praying for a full time ministry, were I could use my nursing career with a spiritual focus. 8 months later, I applied to Mercy Ships to fill a PICU Nurse vacancy, and I was accepted. This meant I needed to raise funds that would cover the flight ticket and the crew free. On October I started sharing the dream through my blog, youtube videos and one-to-one conversations. I ended up sharing in some churches, even with people I haven't met yet in other countries!! God showed His power and has provided everything I need to fly to Cameroon and live on the ship for 4 months.
If you want to know more about this journey, I will keep you updated through this blog. I will start posting in english simultaneously with the spanish posts, hoping that you will enjoy the stories and also bless me with your prayers.
